Legendary electronic music producer Paul van Dyk is set to release his 14th studio album, “This World Is Ours,” on April 11, 2025, via his VANDIT Records imprint. It marks his return after a five-year hiatus since his 2020 album release. The new album builds on the momentum from his recent string of singles “Back 2 The FVTR,” “Seven Seas,” “Guiding Light” and “Escape Reality.” This new release reaffirms van Dyk’s status as an innovator in the electronic music space after more than three decades at the forefront of the genre.
Growing up in communist East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall, van Dyk’s trajectory from discovering electronic music on his mother’s kitchen radio to headlining global festivals shows the transformative power of electronic music. His 1994 release “For An Angel,” recently reissued in 2024, has been called out by Mixmag as one of the greatest dance tracks of all time, while his third LP, “Reflections,” earned a Grammy nomination. These accolades highlight his significance within the electronic music scene, making this release one of the more exciting releases of 2025 yet.
The album explores the intersection of AI, technology and human nature, reflecting on artificial intelligence’s rise and its impact on our collective future. The album invites listeners to contemplate humanity’s place in an increasingly automated world, themes van Dyk has already introduced during his ongoing world tour of the same name.
“AI isn’t just a tool; it’s a new definition of technology,” said van Dyk. The final track was created by prompting AI to compose a poem about the sea with a positive outlook, this allowed van Dyk to create a deeply emotional piece that highlights AI’s uncanny ability to produce human-like expression while simultaneously questioning the implications of such technology.
“This World Is Ours” represents not just a collection of songs, but a statement of artistic integrity and creative vision from one of progressive house music’s most enduring icons who continues to push boundaries while maintaining the emotional depth and energy that has defined his signature sound since 1994. The album will be available on all major streaming platforms on April 11, with pre-save options available now for fans eager to experience van Dyk’s latest musical journey.
