Day Zero Announces Brazilian Debut

The acclaimed festival series, Day Zero, which began in Tulum’s jungle during the 2012 Mayan calendar’s final day, will make its Brazilian debut in São Miguel dos Milagres on Jan. 3, 2026.

Founded by Damian Lazarus as a mystical celebration of new beginnings, Day Zero has established itself as one of electronic music’s most distinctive experiences. The festival operates from sunset to sunrise in locations that blend historical significance with natural beauty, previously expanding from its Tulum origins to Israel’s ancient Masada mountain overlooking the Dead Sea.

Day Zero Milagres continues this tradition of finding extraordinary venues where music and cultural heritage intersect. The Alagoas coastal region offers crystalline tidal pools, jungle landscapes and Indigenous heritage that align with the festival’s philosophy of harmonizing electronic music with sacred spaces.

Brazil’s electronic explosion takes center stage with house superstar Vintage Culture leading the local lineup. Breakout sensation Mochakk represents the new generation alongside veteran techno artist ANNA. Melodic duo Maz x Antdot showcase Brazil’s collaborative spirit with rising talents Bhaskar, Malive and Jackson.

The international contingent features South African DJ and producer Black Coffee, globally renowned icon Honey Dijon, Spanish producer Dennis Cruz, Danish live trio WhoMadeWho and French minimal artist Traumer, and more.

True to Day Zero tradition, Lazarus will close the festival with his legendary sunrise session. The performance has become the series’ signature moment, featuring rare edits and deep selections that guide dancers through the transition from night to day.

Each Day Zero edition honors its host region’s cultural heritage. The original Tulum location celebrated Mayan symbolism while Masada embraced desert mysticism. The Brazilian chapter promises to weave together northeastern Brazil’s natural beauty with the festival’s signature ceremony.

São Miguel dos Milagres provides an ideal backdrop for Day Zero’s South American expansion. The Alagoas coastline features natural pools carved into coral reefs and landscapes that balance wilderness with serenity, creating the mystical atmosphere Day Zero requires.

Day Zero began as an underground gathering and has evolved into one of electronic music’s most respected brands. The festival’s commitment to showcasing local talent alongside international acts has established it as a platform for emerging artists while honoring regional musical traditions.

The expansion to Brazil reflects electronic music’s global evolution and Brazil’s growing influence in the international dance scene. Day Zero Milagres positions itself at the intersection of local culture and global innovation.
